Kubu

Kubu: From Visionary Dream to Street Symphony.
Kubu is more than a stage—it’s a performance in itself. Conceived by a visionary musician, this open-air structure was designed to break the boundaries between performer and audience, creating a dynamic concert experience where music, movement, and space collide. Unlike traditional stages, Kubu was designed to be seen from every angle of the city square, rising and falling mid-performance to heighten the drama and immerse the crowd in a spectacle of sound and motion.

Bureau 105 was entrusted with the structural engineering of this ambitious concept, ensuring that the vision could become a reality—safely and seamlessly. The challenge was not only to create a stable structure but to design it for movement. The lifting mechanism had to function with precision, guaranteeing both the security of the performers and the fluidity of the rising and lowering stage. Through rigorous testing, collaboration with steel fabricators, and close coordination with sound and lighting teams, Kubu became a testament to how structural engineering can shape experiences, not just spaces. A bold fusion of performance and design, it remains a striking example of how engineering can elevate—not just support—the art it serves.
